The Sandwich Generation are parents that are stuck in the middle. You’re looking at people between 30 and 59. And they have children that are attending college or planning to attend college. They have their own retirement to worry about. And their parents are aging and so they really don’t know what to do first. It starts with the process of getting them focused on their retirement, and then simultaneously working on ways to both fund college and to set up protection plans for their parents while they’re still cognizant. The Sandwich Generation is being pulled in three different directions simultaneously. 24% of our population right now are members of the Sandwich Generation, and they lose an average of two and a half hours a day in caretaking for both their children and their aging parents.
