The biggest misconception from the standpoint of educators is they have this retirement package called a 403B. In everyday terms, it’s a 401K, it’s just for educators. The city or the charter school does not contribute to this. And therefore, they think that it’s really good for retirement. But really, all it is is a glorified savings package that doesn’t really take care of you in retirement. It’s just a savings vessel and it doesn’t avoid taxes. They don’t match.
